What are Ukraine's chances to enter the top ten world leaders in milk production?

Among the leading dairy countries, Ukraine has points of growth in milk production. These are the conclusions of the World Bank.

In Ukraine, including among the members of the Association of Milk Producers, there are farms that are building NEW dairy farms in Ternopil, Chernihiv, Kherson, Cherkasy regions. And there are more and more such farms.

The success factors of the leading dairy countries are:

  •  production efficiency and productivity,
  •  control of safety and quality of milk,
  •  state support and national protectionism,
  •  favorable geography, natural and climatic reserves of development.

Against the background of increasing markets and logistics advantages, Ukraine has another significant advantage - the relatively low cost of milk production. However, without the quality and safety of dairy products, their volume and stability of supply, access to export markets is not possible.

Therefore, we boldly state that the domestic dairy sector is developing, moving forward by tectonic steps and Ukraine has every chance to enter the TOP-10 largest producers of milk and dairy products.

The team of the International Dairy Congress and the Association of Milk Producers has been working to strengthen these competitive advantages for almost 15 years. It is no coincidence that the leitmotif of the business section of the next congress, which will be held in February, is geopolitics and the development of a strategy for the development of the dairy industry until 2030. We involve representatives of international organizations, key players in the Ukrainian dairy sector and the authorities in the discussions. The congress will be co-organized by a division of the World Bank Group - International Finance Corporation (IFC). The Congress will be held on February 10-11, 2022 in KyivExpoPlaza (Kyiv, Ukraine).
