The Veterinary Service Center (VSC) has been operating in the dairy livestock sector since 2015.
VSC Objectives:
- We develop and disseminate new industry standards for effective consulting and practical support for dairy farms.
- We ensure regular, highly professional, practical veterinary services for Ukraine's milk-producing farms to safeguard the life, health, high reproduction rates, and maximum productivity of cattle.
- By implementing treatment and prevention protocols from the best professionals in the global veterinary market, we increase farm profitability and their confidence in the future.
- By shaping a new dairy industry, we stimulate livestock development in Ukraine, enhancing the economic efficiency and competitiveness of the domestic dairy farming sector.
A service veterinarian regularly visits their regionally assigned farms on a weekly basis, consults, recommends optimal solutions to problems, and participates in the farm's veterinary care.
Services Provided Within the Project:
- Clinical examination of fresh cows;
- Diagnosis of postpartum diseases;
- Health monitoring of animals that received/were prescribed treatment during the previous visit;
- Pregnancy diagnosis in cows and heifers, including with the use of an ultrasound scanner;
- Diagnosis of causes of animal infertility and prescription of treatment for each animal;
- Diagnosis of ketosis in cows 6-12 days into lactation (customer's consumables). If the customer does not have consumables, DK VET supplies consumables on a separate invoice;
- Sample collection for Uman Labs research;
- Diagnosis of abomasal displacement;
- Prescription of further treatment courses for sick animals until the next visit;
- Artificial insemination of cattle;
- Training of dairy farm personnel;
- Audits of dairy farm units and provision of recommendations.

- Implementing disease prevention schemes will reduce animal treatment costs.
Conditions for VSC Project Participation:
- VSC services are provided only to active AMP members.
- VSC services are provided on a commercial basis.
- DK VET is the partner supplier of veterinary products to the customer, as per the VSC veterinarian's recommendations and prescriptions.
Achievements:
- The VSC, as a division of the AMP Advisory Center, has become the official recipient of the "Reference Model of a Dairy Farm in Ukraine," which was developed as part of the "Dairy Sector Development" project in cooperation with AMP, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Pöttinger Ukraine LLC.
- VSC experts are lecturers at educational online and offline events of the Dairy Center Kischenzi training center.
- VSC experts regularly enhance their qualifications, having completed training from experts at Land O'Lakes Venture37 and the Mashav training center (Israel).
- The VSC is a reliable partner for international organizations such as USAID, SAFOSO, and IFC – collaborating on a number of projects that contribute to the development of Ukraine's dairy industry.
- As of early 2024, the VSC cooperates with over 110 farms across almost all of Ukraine, with a total milking herd of more than 47,000 head.
