The Council extended the deadline for submitting information on the final beneficiaries of legal entities

The Council extended by 9 months the deadline for submitting information on the final beneficiaries of legal entities.

342 deputies voted for the adoption of the bill №5807 as a whole, with the minimum required 226.

The document states that legal entities submit to the state registrar information on the ultimate beneficial owner in the amount specified by this Law and the ownership structure within one year (previously 3 months) from the date of entry into force of the legal act.

The deputies also decided that if the founders of a legal entity are exclusively natural persons who are the ultimate beneficial owners of such legal entity, the information on the ultimate beneficial owner is not specified.

Beneficiaries must be disclosed to all legal entities by October 10.

This is determined by the law on financial monitoring (Law № 361 of December 6, 2019), paragraph 4 of the transitional provisions.

The reason for the law was the fight against terrorist financing.

AMР welcomes this decision of the Verkhovna Rada, as additional time is clearly needed for quality and stress-free preparation and submission to the USR of information on the ownership structure and final beneficiaries.
