Prices for dairy products in Ukraine will grow by 20-25% in 2023

Prices for dairy products in Ukraine will rise by 20-25% in 2023, Olena Zhupinas, an expert of the Association of Milk Producers, told Delo.ua.

Dairy producers already raised selling prices in the fall, and products will become more expensive throughout 2023. There are four main reasons for this: problems with energy supply, inflation in Ukraine, growth in the cost of production and dependence on the price trend in the global market.

Mrs. Zhupinas notes:

Lowering the VAT rate on raw milk and dairy products could support the purchasing power of Ukrainians and thereby support the industry as a whole.

Currently, world markets are under the influence of global inflation and recession, which is a negative signal and suggests that the coming year promises to be quite difficult, especially in the first quarter.

Taking into account the growth of costs for the production of raw milk and its processing, an expert from the milk processing industry predicts that the growth of the price of raw milk in 2023 may reach 30%.

When and why dairy products can become more expensive can be found in detail on the Delo.ua portal.
