Despite difficult wartime conditions, rising production costs, and the energy crisis, industrial farms continue to work on animal productivity, milk quality, and safety.
According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, in 2024, processing enterprises received 3.223 million tons of raw milk, which is 304 thousand tons more (+10%) compared to 2023.
It is worth noting that the increase in processing volumes was due to the increase in raw milk supplies from the industrial sector to 2.887 million tons (+11%). The supply volumes have reached pre-war levels. Compared to 2021, the volumes of milk received for processing from dairy farms increased by 17%. The share of industrial milk in the total structure of supply was 90% in 2024.
At the same time, in 2024, the supply of raw milk from households decreased to 243 thousand tons (-23%). Milk deliveries on a tolling basis increased to 86 thousand tons (+135%), while supplies of self-produced milk for processing decreased to 6 thousand tons (-2%) compared to 2023.
The volumes of extra-class raw milk supplied by dairy farms amounted to 1.72 million tons, which is 24% more than last year. The share of extra-class milk was 60% in the volume of raw milk received for processing in 2024, which increased by 5% compared to last year.
