The Best Investment in the Future of the Village: Introducing the "Agrosfera" Course in Five Educational Institutions

Popularizing agricultural education isn't about the distant future; it's about today's work in communities. A wonderful example of this is Viktor Klid, a member of the Ukrainian Agri Council, who facilitated the introduction of the "Agrosfera" course in five educational institutions within his community in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The course was developed by mentors of the SvitOsvit  educational initiative, taking into account the age of students, modern content, and the needs of the agricultural sector.

"This is not just a new subject – it's an entire educational program that changes children's perception of agriculture. They understand that the agrosphere offers future opportunities to work as an agronomist, engineer, combine operator, biologist, technologist, or even a journalist or blogger in the agricultural field. And some, perhaps, will start their own agro-business, having gained basic knowledge already in school and continuing their studies at higher educational institutions," the farmer shares.

With the support of Viktor Klid, children received a new subject and adapted textbooks, teachers received special training courses, and the community gained inspiration and positive feedback from parents. Most importantly: young people began to view the agrosphere differently – with interest, respect, and faith in the future.

"My daughter is also taking this course – they are genuinely interested. Children don't just read theory; they analyze, observe, and think. This develops critical thinking, provides insight into real professions, and shows that agriculture isn't 'collective farming' but a modern, technological, and dignified field," he adds.

This is truly the best investment in the future of the village.
