Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Bayer, and the All-Ukrainian Association of United Territorial Communities Launch Seed Material Program for Agricultural Producers

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine continues to explore opportunities to support Ukrainian farmers and, together with the international company Bayer and the All-Ukrainian Association of United Territorial Communities, is launching a program to provide seed material.

With the assistance of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Bayer will provide free corn seeds for the spring sowing campaign of 2025 to farmers in the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv Oblasts (excluding temporarily occupied territories). The All-Ukrainian Association of United Territorial Communities will ensure the delivery of seeds within the framework of the "United Communities" project, which is being implemented with the support of the American people.

"The Ministry of Agrarian Policy is constantly seeking new opportunities to help farmers. And today, we are pleased to assist farmers in the frontline territories. The provided seeds will enable agricultural producers from frontline and de-occupied territories to sow approximately 10,000 hectares with corn seeds and harvest an estimated 120,000 tons of grain. This initiative is another step aimed at strengthening Ukraine's food security in the context of the war," emphasized Vitalii Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

To receive assistance, a farm must be registered in the State Agrarian Register (DAR) as a legal entity or an individual entrepreneur, including family farms.

Agricultural producers cultivating between 5 and 500 hectares in the specified oblasts can receive assistance.

Interested agricultural producers need to submit an application to the DAR to participate in the "Receiving DEKALB® brand corn seeds" program. Applications will be accepted from April 21 to April 30, or until the assistance volumes are exhausted.

If the application is approved, the All-Ukrainian Association of United Territorial Communities will send a notification with detailed information about the time and place of seed distribution to the email address provided in the application.

Each approved applicant will be able to receive up to 25 seed units of corn (at the rate of 1 seed unit per 1 hectare), depending on the cultivated land area. Seed distribution will begin in early May and will last approximately two weeks.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the All-Ukrainian Association of United Territorial Communities, within the framework of the "United Communities" project with the support of the AGRO Program, has delivered 810 tons of vegetable and grain seeds for sowing, including those provided by American companies, to restore agricultural production in affected communities. Thanks to this, more than 1,700 agricultural producers and over 300,000 households from 971 communities have harvested an estimated 500,000 tons of crops.
