On August 13, within the framework of the #EpiC project, a free online training "Responsible Use of Antibiotics in Industrial Livestock Farming" was held for milk producers — with the support of the Association of Milk Producers (AMP).
During the opening remarks, Hanna Lavrenyuk, Director General of the AMP, emphasized that throughout May–August 2026, a series of in-person trainings by EpiC took place among various stakeholders to raise awareness and implement good practices of responsible antibiotic use in livestock farming, and the webinar is the final event with a concentrate of the most important explanations, tips, and recommendations from the in-person events.
The experts of the training were recognized experts Vitaliy Bashynskyi and Valeriy Lototskyi, who provided the participants with a deep analysis of the current situation and practical tools for work. The training format allowed for a detailed examination of the problematics from different sides: from state control requirements to the daily work of a veterinary doctor directly at the enterprise.
During the training, participants analyzed:
Updates in legislation: a detailed breakdown of changes in the veterinary legislation of Ukraine regarding the circulation and use of antimicrobial drugs.
Most typical mistakes and clear recommendations for writing prescriptions for antimicrobial agents.
Countering AMR: effective strategies and measures to prevent the development of antimicrobial resistance.
Practical algorithms: modern approaches to the prevention and treatment of bacterial infections in cattle, aimed at the rational and controlled use of antibiotics in dairy cattle breeding.
Special attention was paid to forming a shared understanding of the principles of responsible use of antimicrobial drugs to ensure animal health and product safety.
