In the first half in Ukraine, there was a reduction in the number of cattle by 6.6 %

As of July 1, 2020 Ukraine has 3466,9 million head of cattle, of which 1778,3 million — dairy livestock. The total number of cattle decreased by 6.6% in comparison with the analyzed period in 2019.

This writes MilkUa.info according to the State statistics service of Ukraine.

In particular, the number of cattle in the industrial sector decreased by 8.5 % (1025,9 million heads in 2020 in comparison 1121,0 million in 2019). Including dairy livestock 428.5 million, which is 6 % less than over the period of 2019.

The increase of cattle in industrial plants shows only Ternopil (+2.2 %) and Dnipropetrovsk (+1 %) regions. The number in other regions is reduced. The greatest fall in growth was observed in Rivne region (-25,9%).

As of April 1, the number of cattle in households decreased by 5.7% (2441,0 million head in 2020 compared to 2589,9 million in 2019). Including dairy livestock is 1349,8 million which is 6.4 % less than in the analyzed period of the previous year.

Data are presented excluding the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Sevastopol and temporarily occupied part of the territories in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
