Imports that kill the economy

Rostyslav Zinovskyi, a member of the Association of Milk Producers since 2011, owner of Shabska Ferma LLC, spoke about the current state of the dairy sector and the impact of imports on milk producers.

This is stated in the story of the TV channel Ukraine "Imports that kill the economy."

Over the past three years, imports of dairy products to Ukraine have increased significantly.  In 2020, it reached a critical level - $ 300 million worth of dairy products were imported to Ukraine, and the growth compared to the previous year was 113%.

If no action is taken, Ukraine could follow in the footsteps of its neighbors - Bulgaria and Moldova - where up to 80% of imported products and only 20% of domestic production are already on store shelves.

This will lead to a deep crisis in the dairy sector, which today provides almost 50,000 jobs and generates the most tax deductions to the state budget from all subsectors of the agro-industrial sector - almost UAH 4 billion.

Therefore, the Association of Milk Producers urges consumers to include the regime of economic patriotism and choose on the shelves of domestic products, and the Ministry of Economy to support the application for a special investigation to protect against uncontrolled imports.
