EU Milk Yields vs. Ukraine's Milk Yields

This March, the DG AGRI (Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission) presented a map of the average productivity of dairy cows in the EU based on 2023 results.

  • Among the countries with the highest milk yields were Denmark (10.4 t/head) and Estonia (10.7 t/head). The lowest cow productivity was in Bulgaria (3.6 t/head) and Romania (3.4 t/head).
  • The average productivity of dairy cows in the EU was 7.82 tonnes per head.

We will analyze how Ukraine's results compare to these figures in October, during the XVII International Dairy Congress.

And for Ukrainian achievements to be not just statistics, but also names and stories, we urge you to join the "Dairy Records of Ukraine 2025" rating.

The application period runs until August 10 inclusive.

This year's nominations:

  • TOP-20 Dairy Farms — to recognize the most productive dairy farms.
  • Highest Lifetime Productivity — to acknowledge the top 5 record-holding cows.
