Alternative forage crops - International Dairy Congress 2021

Coarse fodder procurement has become a challenge in 2020:

  • dairy farms in many regions have not been able to procure sufficient сoarse fodder.
  • in the south and east harvested only 40-50% of demand
  • the energy value of silos harvested in such conditions is not pleasing
  • rising prices for grain and protein ingredients have rapidly increased the cost of raw milk production.

Are there ways to take into account and prevent climate challenges in the procurement of quality сoarse fodder?
