June 1 — World Milk Day!

Together with the rest of the world, we celebrate World Milk Day — a special day about the love for cows, the resilience of farmers, and milk as a symbol of health and life. And June 1 is no coincidence — it aligns with International Children's Day — because milk is an indispensable product for a healthy and happy childhood, and for the well-being of families worldwide.

Without exaggeration, milk is a true superfood of our time, providing the human body with a complex of vitamins and minerals in an ideal environment for their absorption.

For Ukraine, this day has an even deeper meaning: it marks the 1194th day of the full-scale war in which dairy farms, animals, and agricultural enterprises become targets of the aggressor. More than 400 farms have ceased operations, with over 100 suffering significant destruction or complete annihilation due to targeted enemy shelling. Despite the challenges and devastating consequences of Russian aggression, Ukrainian dairy farms continue to develop, invest in productivity and technology, increase volumes and safety indicators of raw milk, support the survival of their communities, and provide Ukrainians and the world with milk and dairy products.

By the end of 2024, industrial farms:

  • increased milk production by 6.7%
  • increased their cow population by 1%
  • set a new productivity record: 8176 kg/cow/year — an impressive +20% compared to 2021!
  • the top 5 regions of Ukraine by cow population hold 60% of all industrial cows in Ukraine: Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia.

Together with the whole world today, on #WorldMilkDay, let's raise our glasses of milk not just to enjoy, but primarily to thank everyone involved in the dairy business. And for Ukraine's Victory!
