Caolan Robertson is an Irish journalist and frontline documentarian who currently lives in Ukraine, documenting the crimes of Russian aggression against Ukraine. He speaks about the deliberate killings of farmers in the Kherson region.
He spoke with local farmers and recorded stories of pressure, attempts at demoralization, and the enemy's intent to starve the region.
"It's about suppressing those who feed the nation. All the farmers I've spoken to in eastern Kherson are forced to carry guns and drone detectors because the Russians realize they can no longer capture Kherson, they can't cross to the north of that river. So, their goal is to demoralize everyone, to starve the population. And Kherson is famous for its strawberries, its watermelons, its products.
I received comments on social media from people who wrote, 'One day, many years ago, when I was in Ukraine, we were driving through Kherson—and I will never forget those tastes.' But this is what Russia does everywhere it goes: it brings a cloud of evil and darkness, starvation, and demoralization," says Caolan Robertson.
Caolan Robertson is a journalist for LBC and Times Radio, and runs his own reports on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@CaolanReports).
