Following the results of 6 months of 2021 industrial farms do not slaughter cows

As of July 1, 2021, there are 1,667.5 thousand cows in Ukraine, which is 5.8% less than in the same period last year. But for the first time there are no losses in the industrial sector.

his was reported by analyst of the Association of Milk Producers Yana Linetska.

428.5 thousand cows were housing in the industrial sector, which is in line with last year's figures. The number of livestock in the following period has increased:

  • Ivano-Frankivsk (+ 7.1%; 4.5 thousand), 
  • Ternopil (+ 7%; 13.7 thousand), 
  • Kyiv (+ 6.8%; 33, 2 thousand) areas.

During the analyzed period, households reduced the content of dairy cattle by 7.6% - up to 1 million 239 thousand. None of the regions showed an increase in the number of cows. The farms of Kherson region (-16.3%, 38 thousand), Zaporizhia (-16.1%; 30.7 thousand) and Mykolayiv region (-12.4%; 41.6 thousand) sold the most cattle.

"Stabilization of the number of industrial cows is good news. It has not been observed even in times more favorable for the dairy business. However, what the dynamics will be next - it is difficult to say. Let's hope this is not a statistical error, and the industry has taken a vector for growth", - says Yana Linetska.
