100 Calves Every Month — Care, Knowledge, and Responsibility Behind Each One

In the Cherkasy region, STOV "Peremoha" — a member farm of the Association of Milk Producers (AMP) — demonstrates what modern Ukrainian animal husbandry can be: a place where every newborn calf gets the right start, and animal welfare is not a formality, but a daily practice.

This is a story not just about technology. It is about the people who are changing the industry — quietly, systematically, and professionally.

A report by "Suspilne" showcases a real-life example of how proper care in the first hours of an animal's life determines its future. And, simultaneously, the future of the entire dairy farm.

"We get a high-yielding, healthy cow that recovers quickly and subsequently brings us profit in the form of milk. Similarly, for the newborn calf that has been properly fed and treated on time under optimal conditions — these first hours of life are a critical moment. If we have done everything qualitatively, we face fewer problems during its further rearing," noted Karen Darchinyan, Deputy Director of Livestock at the farm.

Valeriy Lototskiy, Director of the Advisory Center of AMP, emphasizes: compliance with cattle welfare standards is no longer just a recommendation, but a necessity on the path to Euro-integration. It is about the quality, trust, and competitiveness of Ukrainian milk.

That is why the AMP consistently works to ensure that:

• Every farm worker possesses the necessary knowledge and certification in animal handling.

• Modern approaches become the norm for the entire industry.

• Ukrainian farms steadily move toward European standards.

In June 2026, STOV "Peremoha" will host the National Farm Day — a meeting place for those who are shaping the future of Ukraine's dairy industry.

Watch the report. Get inspired. And implement — step by step. Because a strong industry begins with the right start.
